Uses
- Used to shunt peripheral oedema whilst awaiting formailsed ABI or TBIs
- Lower limb oedema which requires moderate compression to shunt fluid
- Venous leg ulcers where 40mmHg of compression is not possible due to arterial stenosis
Positives
- Has ovals that when stretched to circles when the right stretch is applied
- Does not slip down as the fluid is shifted due to the short stretch first layer
- Allows for effective compression whilst awaiting formal scans
Limitations
- Moderate or severe arterial conditions with Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI) <0.6.
- Patients suffering from ischaemic thrombosis, phlegmatia coerulea dolens, septic phlebitis.
- Decompensated congestive heart failure.
- Patient in post-arterial bypass condition.
- Known hypersensitivity to any of the components – in particular latex for URGO K2® Lite.
Precautions
