Tubigrip® provides lasting, effective support for the treatment of strains and sprains, soft tissue injuries, general oedema, post-burn scarring and ribcage injuries. It can also be used for pressure dressings, and provides complete freedom of movement for the patient. If standing alone, Tubigrip will exert 10–15mmHg.

Uses
- People who can not tolerate or are non-compliant with compression bandages
- People who have very delicate skin but need a primary and secondary dressing
- Limbs with oedema that need a small amount of compression
- Securing dressing for bulky dressings
Positives
- Great at applying a small amount of circumferential compression onto limbs
- Useful for holding primary and secondary dressings in place when tapes are not appropriate
Limitations
- Can cause limb ischemia on severely arterial compromised limbs
- If the bandage rolls up it can act as a tourniquet
Precautions
- Contraindicated for patient’s with arterial stenosis
