Uses

  • Dry wound beds
  • A precursor to other dressings to remove bacterial load on a wound bed

Positives

  • Inactivation of pathogens between 1-5min
  • Provides moist wound healing

  • Can be used in small to large wound areas

Limitations

  • Needs to be used repeatedly to have an ongoing effect
  • If used to pack a wound the clinician must make sure enough of the product is used so that it does not dry up.
