Uses
- Minor cuts
- Abrasions
- Suture lines where an island dressing is not appropriate (fragile skin and adhesive can not be used on the patient’s skin)
Positives
- A very thin profile
- In scant to no exudate wounds it allows for a simple dressing to be used whilst also providing protection
Limitations
- If the exudate it more than nil to scant the exudate is absorbed and can then bind the dressing to the wound. In this case you will need to soak the dressing off
Precautions
- Make sure the shiny side goes down onto the wound
