Uses
- Heel wounds (hollow out the heel area with a ‘melon baller’ effect)
- Forefoot offloading
Positives
- Aids in offloading primary suture lines in the foot
- Offloads high plantar pressure off wounds
Limitations
- Can increase the risk of falling so it can have a limited/specific patient group.
Precautions
- If patient has an unsteady gait look at other options of if suitable use a darcoe riser to equal out the shoe heights
