Treatment Goals
To aid the split skin graft (SSG) adhere to the wound bed. This is especially important with SSG that have a large amount of exudate. You will need to take your time cleaning and applying and removing the dressing to aid in it's survival. Once integrated into the wound bed the skin wont have the same turgor, elasticity or resistance to sheering or blunt force trauma. ** WHEN REMOVING THIS DRESSING PLEASE NOTE IF THE AQUACEL IS DRY YOU MUST WET IT BEFORE REMOVING and then transition to another dressing that adds/maintains moisture **
Aim of Dressing
Wick away the exudate whilst applying downward pressure to aid the SSG adhering to the wound bed
