Treatment Goals

To allow the loose skin flap to re-adhere to the wound base to minimise any tissue loss and maximise the re-adhesion of the dermis.

Stabilise the skin flap whilst providing a moist wound environment

this process is used when the skin has been able to be placed back onto the wound bed and is clean and healthy

Prepare sterile field

Clean wound

Clean the wound bed making sure that you are wiping in the direction that the skin needs to be reattached

Double layer jelonet

Secure with mepilex border

When you place the mepilex border on please make sure you place an arrow in the direction it needs to be removed (direction the skin flap has been replaced)
