Reduce oedema and maceration to allow wound edges to to close.

Allow for the wicking of the exudate away from the wound bed to stop the maceration of the periwound.

Step 1

Setup sterile field

Setup your sterile field with all your sterile products

Clean the wound

Clean the wound gently as to not agitate the suture line due to the fragile peri wound skin

Paint the wound

Paint the wound and the peri-wound with betadine TWICE. Allowing 2 min in between each coat. This will dry out the wound bed and peri-wound.

Apply Primary dressing

Apply the aquacel ag ribbon so that it is layer upwards over the wound bed.

Apply zetuvit

Apply zetuvit. Do not use a combine as the fluid will not be captured but rather leech back out onto the wound bed.

Cotton bandage and crepe

Wrap the foot up with cotton bandage and crepe so that a small amount of compression is on the dorsum of the foot.
