Step 1

Prepare your sterile field

Prepare your field and decant your sterile dressing products onto it using ANTT

Clean the staple line

Using the gauze and normal saline clean the staple line paing attending to any areas of clots and how well the wound edges are adhering together and if there is pooling of exudate in one particular area

Apply dressing

Apply fabric island dressing. Avoid using film island dressings as this can cause maceration of the staple line
