Treatment Goals

Provide ongoing simple dressing plan for patient due to the location of the dressing rubbing on his wheelchair. The aim is to pad out the lower leg where the wound is located to reduce sheering forces on the wound.

Aim of Dressing

Through the use of foam and zetuvit to aid in wound healing whilst providing padding and sheering protection

Chronic Mixed Ulcer

Patient is in a wheel chair and constantly has his leg held up against the retractable leg pieces. Patient has had previously angioplasties and stentings to aid in ulcer healing and has mild venous insufficiency.

Setup sterile field

Setup your sterile field with all your sterile products

Step 2

Clean the wound

Clean the wound bed and remove and dead tissue to allow the wound care product to make contact with the wound bed.

Apply Urgo Start

Apply the Urgo Start. This can be double stacked if required.

Zetuvit

Apply padding such as zetuvit. As it's not for absorbency combine can also be used.

Secure

Secure with appropriately sized tubular form or cotton bandage and crepe
