Step 1

Prepare your sterile field

Prepare your sterile field and products using ANTT

Clean the wound

Clean the wound and dry very well to remove moisture from the wound

Paint the affected area

Paint the affected area and any 'bruising' with iodine. This can be done up two time allowing for the first coat to dry properly. Each coat should be liberal and extend 1cm over the parameter of the wound

Secure

Allow the betadine to dry fully (5min) and then cover with a mepilex border if oozing if not cover with tubular bandage
