    Single isolated toe amoungst other toes

    Although the treatment is the same with all toes the danger with a toe that is situated between other toes is that skin breakdown or a an infection can occur between the toes and cant be readily seen.

    Step 1

    Clean the foot

    Clean the foot and this mean 'flossing' between each toe to remove cellular debris. Dry the feet VERY WELL

    Step 2

    Paint the whole FOREFOOTq

    Don't be afraid. Paint like you are a 5 year old. Paint the whole forefoot and between the toes with iodine. ALLOW TO DRY FOR 5 MIN.

    Place gauze spacers

    Place (if possible) pressed gauze (only 1 piece) inbetween each toe. If patient is mobilising place tubular form over the foot. Avoid wrapping the foot as it will get macerated which leads to wet ganrgene.
