Treatment Goals

To stop the hypergranulation of the tissue occuring.

Aim of Dressing

By applying a two layers of dense foam and applying constant pressure it will push down and dry out the hypergranulation tissue. This will cause the tissue to reduce in size back to skin level.

Prepare Sterile Field

Clean the wound bed

Apply foam

apply double layer of foam over the wound. Sticky since down

Apply white soft parafin

In this particular instance we use white soft paraffin to aid in the flexibility of the old skin graft and to lift the scabs.

Apply Zetuvit

Apply cotton bandage and crepe

This should be firm but not as tight as compression
