Care Plans
Fasciotomy - With Shoelaces
Where the fasciotomy site has shoelaces it is very hard and impractical to thread dressings underneath them. The shoelaces are there to bring in the skin edges closer together. Once they are slack they serve no purpose
Swipe
Prepare Sterile Field
Apply Jelonet
Secure the dressing
Fasciotomy - Surface VAC
Where shoelaces are not put on or have fallen out a VAC can be used in a 'surface VAC' style to aid in bringing in the skin edges closer together.
Swipe
Prepare Sterile Field
Clean wound bed
Place interface
Place vac foam
Turn on the machine
