Treatment Goals

Provide protection to the small dehiscence/breakdown in the primary closure site.

Aim of Dressing

Absorb any exudate from the two small broken down areas and create a moist wound environment.

    Setup sterile field

    Setup your sterile field with all your sterile products

    Clean the wound

    Clean the wound bed removing any devitalised tissue to allow healthy tissue to shine through

    Cover with inadine

    Double layer the inadine over breakdown area

    Cover with Mepilex

    Cover with mepilex

    Lather with moisturiser

    Lather the leg with white soft parrafin AFTER you put the mepilex border. Otherwise the mepilex border will not stick
