Boil on right buttock

A young man didn't appreciate the length that his boil had gotten to before coming to hospital

Step 1

Prepare you sterile field

Open products using ANTT onto your sterile field

Clean the boil

Make sure that the full extent of the boil is cleaned. You may even need to flush it out if there is any remanence of puss.

Probe

Probe the boil to find the maximum depth of the wound.

Step 4

Pack

Pack with aquacel Ag ribbon using the probe. Make sure there is no pockets of the boil unpacked. This can lead to bacteria building up

Secure

Secure with biatain super adhesive
