Cellulitis that is in the acute phase

Please mark the cellulitis with a permanent marker

Step 1

Gently clean

Gently clean the legs making sure that you don't disturb the skin if at all possible. Skin that looks translucent and/or grey will most likely fall off during the next few days

Broken areas of skin

On the broken areas of skin place the inadine doubled over. This can go on the skin as well as the 'healthy' skin. This will add a small amount of antimicrobial element at a topical level

Wrap the leg (part 1)

Wrap the leg in jelonet roll. Sheets can be used but it is time consuming.

Wrap the leg (part 2)

Wrap the leg with cotton bandage and crepe. There is no need to use absorbent padding as the dressing with being changed daily
