Treatment Goals

Maintain skin integrity whilst intravenous antibiotics can work

Aim of Dressing

Apply oil based emollients to aid in skin integrity whilst monitoring for increase tracking of the cellulitis

Frequency of Dressing Change

Everyday

Cellulitis that is in the acute phase

Step 1

Gently clean

Gently clean the legs making sure that you don't disturb the skin if at all possible. Skin that looks translucent and/or grey will most likely fall off during the next few days

Dressing Pack (Small),Normal Saline,Jelonet Roll (15cm x 2m)

Step 2

Broken areas of skin

On the broken areas of skin place the inadine doubled over. This can go on the skin as well as the 'healthy' skin. This will add a small amount of antimicrobial element at a topical level
