Treatment Goals

To support the graft whilst the patient walks from sheering forces, apply downward pressure to aid the graft taking and wick away any exudate

Maintain moist wound environment for the split skin graft whilst wicking away excess exudate

Small to moderate exudate

The split skin graft is not macerate and is not dry. Some exudate management is needed. The dressing plays the roll of minimising sheering and blunt for trauma

Step 1

Prepare you sterile field

Open products using ANTT onto your sterile field

Products Used

Dressing Pack (Small),Normal Saline,Jumbo Sterile Mouth Swabs,Urgo Tul (10cm x 10cm),Zetuvit Plus (10cm x 10cm),Cotton Role – Multigate

Step 2

Clean the split skin graft

Saturate your STERILE jumbo mouth swabs with normal saline. Gently ROLL (not scrub) from the center of the split skin graft to the outer edge and then discard. Repeat till the whole graft has been clean.
