Uses

  • Large wound deficits
  • Over split skin graft donor site (put on during surgery once skin has been harvested – a interface is required between the kerlix and the wound bed otherwise it will adhere to the bed as it stays in place for 10-14 days)

Positives

  • High absorbancy
  • Loosely woven so can micro-debride wound beds on removal
  • Only need one roll for large areas

Limitations

  • Does not lock in fluid that it has absorbed
  • Can go rock hard once exudate has been absorbed and dried out
