Uses
- Pressure injuries where a large amount of epidermis has been loss and no cream is sticking due to exudate
- Peri-stomal skin that has broken down and a patient’s ring or bag is not sticking
Positives
- It is a fine powder that clings to the smallest amount of moister that could aid in a dressing lifting
- Allows stoma rings to adhere
- Allows for pastes both stoma or zinc based creams to adhere to the wound bed
Limitations
- If you don’t brush all the excess powder it will inhibit the adhesion of the paste, stoma ring or dressing
