Uses
- Shall (1cm) wounds with deficits
- Non-infected ulcers
- Wounds with at a minimum moderate exudate output
Positives
- Will not stick to the wound bed
- Maintains integrity of healing tissue
- Will not dehydrate the wound bed
Limitations
-
- Although the backing is semipermeable exudate can overrun the dressing if the exudate can not be absorbed into the secondary dressing. This will ultimately macerate the peri-wound
Precautions
- Make sure that the writing is facing you otherwise exudate will pool and flood the peri-wound
