Maximum Wear Time
3 days / 7 days
Exudate Management
Moderate to high
Alternatives
Secondary Complementary Dressings
Uses
- Used to remove slough from wounds
- Used in wounds that are failing to create an epidermis layer due to excessive moisture. By applying the the dressing the hyper-iostonic dressing removes the excessive moisture causing a ‘capping effect’
Positives
- Absorbs exudate and lift slough
- By drying out the wound bed it can cause epitelisation on high exudate wounds
Limitations
- Should be monitored that exudate isn’t too excessive and over runs the dressings ability to cope with it
Precautions
- Can sting when it is put on
